Our impact

Social impact that reaches across the Hunter.

Across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and the Lower Hunter, we empower adults experiencing financial instability and long-term unemployment to build lasting economic independence.

  • Empowering refugee and migrant women

Our "Survive the Future" project gives isolated refugee women structured sewing training and equipment sourced through community donation drives, building professional skills while easing social isolation.

  • Sustainable, flexible employment

Social enterprises such as our Clothing Alteration Services create flexible income opportunities for mothers and carers who face barriers to traditional employment.

  • Breaking cycles of long-term unemployment

Free, hands-on career development — resume building, interview practice, and funding for essential certifications such as RSA, barista, and first aid courses.

  • Local entrepreneurship and micro-businesses

One-on-one business mentorship, micro-grants, and legal support help under-resourced adults turn business ideas into self-sustaining small enterprises.

  • Improving mental health and well-being

Mind-skills and well-being programs address the psychological strain, low confidence, and isolation that so often accompany long-term unemployment.

  • Circular economy and community mobilisation

Textile recycling and school uniform alteration programs pair social welfare with environmental sustainability, backed by residents and sponsors like the Ian and Shirley Norman Foundation.
